Celebrities share their opinions about the reimplementation of the enhanced community quarantine in Metro Manila and four other nearby provinces.

Many celebrities didn't refrain from sharing their thoughts on social media after the government recently announced that Metro Manila, and its four neighboring provinces, will be put under enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) once again.

According to the announcement, the ECQ will take effect on Monday, March 29 until Sunday, April 4, to repel the surge of COVID-19 cases in the country.

On Instagram, actor Albie Casiño shared his response after hearing the news and urged netizens to “vote wisely” in the upcoming elections.

He said while sharing a selfie, “My face when they said ECQ season 2.

“Congrats to everyone who voted nung 2016. Sana natutuwa na kayo ngayon. Vote wisely sa 2022 #ecq #halalan2022.”

Meanwhile, actress Alessandra de Rossi reshared a tweet she made exactly a year ago and described the situation as, “Dejavu, intensity II”

Her tweet from a year ago reads, “We can all affect, have an effect, and infect one another. Please use your lives sensibly for the good of others. Stay safe and hopeful, and grounded. We are one and the same.”

Mars Pa More host Iya Villania took a more lighthearted approach by posting a photo of her daughter Alana from their recent trip out of the city.

She wrote in the caption, “March 28, 2021. Last sunset outdoors before staying indoors again. Stay safe, guys! #WhatDidWeDoWrong #WhyAreWeBackToThis.”

Kapuso actor Gil Cuerva, meanwhile, couldn't fathom that the Philippines is “back to square one” and reminded his followers to “take COVID seriously.”

Saab Magalona, the daughter of late master rapper Francis Magalona, turned sarcastic on Twitter as she shared the news to her 1.2 million followers.

She said, “Ano na nga ulit 'yun? 'Yun ba 'yung 'di ka pwede lumabas ng bahay tapos walang trabaho, walang ayuda, at walang plano 'yung gobyerno? Ah, ok!”

On March 27, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque announced that President Rodrigo Duterte approved the recommendation that Metro Manila, Cavite, Laguna, Bulacan, and Rizal will be placed under ECQ to prevent the continuous rise of COVID cases in the country.

“One week will of course help, pero 'wag kalimutan na we already have restrictions in place for the past week,” he said during the televised announcement.

“Itong ECQ natin is for the 2nd week of a two-week period kung saan tayo ay nag-impose na ng tighter restrictions. Malalaman lang natin ang resulta sa two weeks na ito sa susunod na two weeks.”

Last year, many celebrities used their platform to voice their opinion about President Rodrigo Duterte's decision to extend the enhanced community quarantine in Metro Manila and other “high-risk areas” in the country. See their reactions below:
