Here's what celebrities have to say about Ellen Adarna and Derek Ramsay's recent engagement.

After going public with their relationship in February, Ellen Adarna and Derek Ramsay made headlines again recently after Derek proposed on March 30, 2021. The pair posted photos of their engagement, both teary-eyed and happy.

The couple's own children were also present during the engagement. Ellen has a son named Elias with former partner John Lloyd Cruz while Derek has his son Austin with ex-wife Mary Christine Jolly.

Netizens and celebrity friends couldn't help but react to the surprise engagement.

Dating rumors between Ellen and Derek first circulated back in January 2021 after the pair were spotted at a dinner party with John Estrada and Ruffa Gutierrez. The two were spotted later in February vacationing with friends in Batangas and Laguna. On February 26, they revealed they've been in a relationship officially since February 4.

Derek has spoken about how fast their relationship progressed in a short amount of time because of how compatible they are.

He told Nelson Canlas in a 24 Oras interview, “'Di ba may reputation ako na ayokong magpakasal, na ako 'yong lalaking ayaw magpakasal? I've always been vocal na, no, I want to. I'm just not rushing it kasi I want to find the right person. And talking about the future and talking about them [marriage] seems so natural like I have no fear.”

Derek continued, "The word is natural and we wanted to be as natural as [we] can be. But I'll be lying to you, to myself, and to everyone if I didn't say that she's the girl I want to spend the rest of my life with,” Derek said in closing.
