Kapuso singer and actor Ruru Madrid is ecstatic as his latest song 'Maghihintay' becomes part of Spotify's International Ballads Playlist.

The curated playlist includes ballads from artists all over the world including American singer-songwriter Billie Eilish, K-pop star Chung Ha, Scottish musician Lewis Capaldi and many more.

It also has songs from various OPM artists like December Avenue and The Juans.

Ruru feels honored to join their ranks as he considers music his first love.

"It feels great that my song is now part of Spotify's Ballad International playlist. Music was just a dream for me. Before acting, music really is my first love but I always felt that I was never good enough," he says in a message to GMANetwork.com.

He feels grateful for the opportunity granted to him by GMA Music.

"GMA Music believed in me. They trusted that I could and so I did. Thank you, GMA Music for the wonderful opportunity you have given me and my music," he continued.

Ruru also took the time to thank all his fans and those who appreciate his music.

"Of course, thank you to those who support me. I am happy and grateful to have unlocked this chapter of my life," he ends.

Ruru's 'Maghihintay' was released as a single in 2020. It is the follow-up single to Ruru's debut song 'Nawawala,' also under GMA Music.

Aside from Ruru, fellow Kapuso star Julie Anne San Jose also has a song on Spotify's International Ballad Playlist.

Her live cover of Parokya ni Edgar's 'Your Song' is also made it to the curated playlist.
