Fans finally have a glimpse of what's going to happen on Friends: The Reunion.
HBO Max released the trailer on Wednesday, May 19 that revealed a lot about the reunion, which is probably the most anticipated event in television history.
Friends, one of the most loved American television sitcoms, ran for 10 seasons from 1994 to 2004. It starred Jennifer Aniston (Rachel Green), Courtney Cox (Monica Geller), Lisa Kudrow (Phoebe Buffay), Matt LeBlanc (Joey Tribbiani), Mathew Perry (Chandler Bing), and David Schwimmer (Ross Geller).
Ever since the show ended, fans have been clamoring for a reunion, either a new season or a movie. It was in February 2020 when the reunion was announced but details were not disclosed.
This month, HBO Max started releasing teasers of the much-awaited reunion. It was even revealed that it's going to be a star-studded event featuring guests like BTS and Lady Gaga.
The streaming service, however, clarified that it's not going to be a new episode or a whole season or even a movie. The reunion special doesn't have a single format because it will feature a sit-down interview with James Corden, the cast revisiting the original set, and a fashion show, among others.

The trailer starts with the shot of that familiar apartment building then a shot of the famous foosball table and kitchen of Joey and Chandler's apartment.
Then it's a shot of the whole cast in Monica's apartment playing “The Test,” recreating the funny quiz game of season 4.
It is then followed by shots of the cast entering the soundstage and seeing the original set of the sitcom.
It cuts to James Corden introducing the cast in what looks like the interview part of the special.
Then, the cast is again seen inside the set, reminiscing about the show.
It's followed by the cast in Central Perk, the most famous coffee shop on TV, talking about the show.
“The first table read, that's the first time I laid my eyes on any of you,” Lisa reveals.
The whole cast then does a table read, where Lisa recreates her iconic line “Oh, my eyes! My eyes!” in the episode where she finds out about Chandler and Monica.
It cuts again to the interview portion and then to the cast again talking in the set.
It is then followed by a montage of the other parts of the reunion special including a reveal of the other cast members like Tom Selleck (Richard Burke) and Maggie Wheeler (Janice).
There's also a fashion show part where stars like Cara Delevingne model the famous costumes used in the show including Rachel's pink bridesmaid dress and the Holiday Armadillo.
While some fans are disappointed that the reunion special is not going to be a new episode, most fans are happy that they're going to see all the cast members together again on TV after 17 years.
Friends: The Reunion will start streaming on HBO Max on May 27.
