Thia made a name for herself as well as for the country when she became the first Filipino to win the Miss Eco International title back in 2018. In the same year, she signed a management contract with GMA Artist Center, officially beginning her showbiz journey.

The beauty queen-turned-actress has been part of several Kapuso shows including Glow Up, The Gift, and most recently, First Yaya where she portrays a presidential security officer as PSG Val.

In February this year, Thia hinted a renewed interest in returning to the beauty pageant scene. However, it seems that the Kapuso star is now ready to chase after her other dreams.

She wrote, “The pandemic shifted our lives in ways no one imagined. Today, I'm letting go of a dream. A dream I was ready to face again. But sometimes life gives us a different path we have to embrace and celebrate.

“I'm grateful to the people who have been supportive and encouraging towards the decisions that have been made. My heart is still content, happy & fulfilled.

“I do know, God is preparing me, us for what is to come. Keep the faith.”

While she didn't get into specific details, her First Yaya co-stars and friends reached out to her to show support.

Cassy Legaspi said, “I love you so much Bambi!! Blessings on blessings for you.”

Cai Cortez also penned a longer message, saying, “Your generosity, and the kindness of your heart isn't only dictated by the sash that you are wearing babe. It radiates from within and I have seen that in the past months that I've gotten to know you. So proud of you, babe.”

Her fellow beauty queens like Miss World Philippines 2018 Katarina Rodriguez, Miss Philippines 2017 Laura Lehmann, and Miss Multinational Philippines 2019 Isabelle de Leon also left comments to express their compliments and support.
