Noon pa man, nais na raw talaga ni Joaquin Domagoso na maging bahagi ng showbiz, ang industriyang kinabilangan ng kanyang ama at ngayong alkalde ng Maynila na si Isko Moreno.

"Hindi ko naman pina-follow 'yung footsteps niya.

"I just wanted to enter showbiz before pa kasi na-realize ko na medyo bibo talaga 'yung attitude ko and medyo makulit talaga ako.

"And I don't want parang regular desk job, parang gusto ko na nakakagalaw ako, nakakagawa ako ng performance art and iba pang bagay.

"Doon talaga feel ko na I can excel and what not that's why I chose showbiz," sabi ni Joaquin sa ginanap na virtual media conference para sa pagbibidahan niyang pelikula, ang Caught in the Act.

Alam daw ng First Yaya actor kung gaano kakilala ang kanyang ama sa entertainment industry. Kaya naman, di tulad ng ibang celebrity kids, wala siyang conscious effort na maging iba kay Mayor Isko.

Katuwiran ng young Kapuso actor, "If 'yung focus ko is to be out of the shadow of my dad, hindi ko masyadong mae-enjoy 'yung showbiz 'coz that's a hard shadow to get out of.

“His shadow is so big because he has so much people and why should I be afraid to be of that shadow, di ba?”

Sa ngayon, ayon kay Joaquin, ipinapakita lang niya sa publiko kung ano ang tunay niyang personalidad--na nalalapit sa kanyang ama pagdating sa kakulitan.

Sabi niya, "Ako, I just do me, e, and my dad is proud of that, na I'm just doing myself.

"I don't have to make everybody happy because it's impossible to make everybody happy.

"I don't try to live up to his expectations or to other expectations.

"I just try to be happy and be happy for myself and for everybody."

Kung papalarin, sabi ng 19-year-old actor, gusto niya ring maging successful sa showbiz tulad ng kanyang ama at magkapagkamit ng acting award.

"I think everybody should have dreams and goals na like that para yung process gets better kasi you're going for a goal, e.

"Then, you're pushing yourself and strive to be better to achieve those goals," ani Joaquin tungkol sa kanyang showbiz goals.

Kung sakali, tatahakin din kaya ni Joaquin ang landas patungong pulitika?

"I don't really think that far in the future po kasi 'yung politics, that's something you enter na maybe in your 30s or later in life.

"Well, my dad entered very early. But ako, my plan talaga muna is showbiz muna talaga po," pagtatapos ng binatang aktor.
