Get to know rising singer-songwriter Raven on GMA Playlist

He's a 21-year-old singer-songwriter and producer hailing from Cavite. He debuted with his song “Tingala” on March 5, 2020, and was the founder of Umpisa, a Facebook music page that aims to promote independent artists. Currently, he is a graduating student of BS Information Technology at Cavite State University-Imus.

This open-genre musician, who performs, writes, and produces his tracks, dabbles in lo-fi hip hop and folk-indie-pop-rock soundscapes for most of his songs.

Releasing independently, he has 18,000 monthly listeners on Spotify with his single "Ngayon Lang 'To," which has so far received 100,000 plays since it was released.

Since starting his channel, he has garnered more than 12,000 subscribers on YouTube, while his videos have reached over 600,000 views. With his steady rise in the industry, he has captured the attention of OPM icon Rico Blanco, who has taken him under his mentorship as he releases new music signed under Sony Music Philippines.

Raven's newly released music video for his song “Paraluman” has gotten more than 196,000 views on YouTube.

The visuals give an “out of this world” vibe with its space-themed setting.

When it comes to his inspiration, Raven takes his creative ideas from Keshi, Lauv, Rico Blanco, Kiyo, among many other talented artists.
