“Mahal ka namin, PNoy! Maraming salamat at paalam.”- Senator Bam Aquino
Former senator Paolo Benigno Aquino IV has issued a statement over the death of former President Noynoy Aquino today, June 24.
On Thursday morning, the whole country woke up to shocking news that former President Benigno Simeon Aquino III was rushed to the Capitol Medical Center in Quezon City.
It was later confirmed that PNoy has died at the age of 61.
Senator Bam, cousin of the late president, posted a short message on Facebook over this devastating news.
He shared, “Nadurog ang puso ko sa paglisan ni PNoy sa atin. Sa mga susunod na oras, maraming sasabihin tungkol sa kanya - iba totoo, iba hindi. Pero ito ang masasabi ko - lahat ibinigay niya para sa Pilipino. Wala siyang itinira.”
“Ipagdasal natin na mahanap niya ang kapayapaan kasama ng ating Panginoon. Mahal ka namin, PNoy! Maraming salamat at paalam.”
With the death of PNoy, several celebrities also expressed their grief over social media including senate president Tito Sotto, award-winning comedienne Pokwang, and The Clash judge Christian Bautista.
