A new beauty queen has been officially crowned. Masbate native Hannah Arnold was crowned as Miss International Philippines 2021 on Sunday night.
The 24-year-old Hannah took home the most prestigious crown at the Binibining Pilipinas 2021 Coronation Night held at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City on Sunday, July 11.
Outside of pageantry, Hannah works as a sleep scientist and a professional model,
One of her winning moments from the pageant was the question and answer portion where she displayed her intelligence through her articulate answer.
During the Q&A portion she was asked, "Given the reach and power of social media, do you believe that genuine freedom of speech exists in the Philippines nowadays? Why or why not?"
Hannah answered, "Freedom of speech is a basic human right that we all must remember and it is important for democracy and with the upcoming elections, we definitely need free speech.
"On Twitter, we are limited to a few characters and what I've seen from these tweets have been powerful and helped me think of who I would like to vote for in the upcoming elections."
She will be competing for the Miss International crown this year, which six Filipina beauty queens have won in the past. These were Aurora Pijuan (1970), Melanie Marquez (1979), Precious Lara Quigaman (2005), Bea Santiago (2013), and Kylie Verzosa (2016).
The Binibining Pilipinas International 2021 Coronation Night was hosted by Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray and Miss Grand International 2016 1st runner-up Nicole Cordoves.
