"Pinaghihirapan po namin ang lahat ng lumalabas... hindi po kami (basura)," said Jaclyn Jose.

Internationally acclaimed actress Jaclyn Jose defended GMA Network after director Andoy Ranay gave harsh criticism on other TV networks' programs.

On Instagram, Jaclyn, who is part of GMA's primetime series The World Between Us, shared a photo of Hollywood A-lister Brad Pitt with a quote that read "I don't fear the enemy who may attack me, I fear the fake friend who will still hug me."

She captioned her post, "Ang lungkot lang mula pag pasok ng crew set up tent hanggang sa pag dating ng mga artista [na] nagkukumahog to be ready, sa set up ng DOP (Director of Photography), set designer, huhugot ang mga artista para ready at all times, maayos trabaho."

"Pagod pero masaya kasi alam namin nakagawa kami ng relevant scene for a day, pinag-iisipan ng lahat kung ano ba ibibigay per sequence.

"Lahat nagta-trabaho, walang hanggang trabaho. Lahat [ng] ginawa ko [ay] pinagtrabahuhan ko, pinag-isipan ko, kahit ano pagod ginagawa namin makapagbigay ng maganda programa na hindi (BASURA)."

In the comment section, Jaclyn, the first Filipina to win Best Actress at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival, continued her defense for the network.

"Lahat ng nasa production from EP to AP to PA to all the members of the production hanggang sa utility, wardrobe on point!"

"Hanggang sa kwento, artista, director nagpapawis, nagpapakahirap makagawa ng isang napakagandang panoorin.

"Pinaghihirapan po namin ang lahat ng lumalabas..hindi po kami (basura)."

The issue began when Direk Andoy was quoted as saying, "Aanhin mo ang franchise kung basura naman 'yung trabaho?" during the virtual media conference of his new project.

Although Direk Andoy didn't specify the network he was referring to, Jaclyn said that it was "obvious" that he was pertaining to GMA Network.

Veteran actress Sandy Andolong, who was last seen in First Yaya, asked Jaclyn what happened.

She commented on her Instagram post, "Jane? Bakit friend? Hope you're ok by now. Hug."

I think body of work). Wala naman may ibang franchise na halata kung 'hindi 7."

Direk Andoy was the director of several Kapuso shows like Stairway to Heaven (2009), Endless Love (2010), and Ang Dalawang Mrs. Real (2014).

He also worked with Jaclyn in the 2013 Kapuso series Mundo Mo'y Akin.
