EXO's D.O. has officially made his solo debut through "Rose," the lead track of his mini album '공감' (Empathy).

On July 26, EXO's D.O. finally released his debut mini-album '공감,' along with the music video for the lead single "Rose."

"Rose" is an acoustic folk genre song with a refreshing guitar rhythm perfect for summer, and has an easy melody that anyone can sing along with.

His debut mini-album '공감' (Empathy) contains eight tracks, including six new songs and two bonus tracks.

According to Soompi, D.O. named his mini-album "Empathy" because there were times that he couldn't relate to the word.

"There were times when I couldn't relate to the word 'empathy,' but I felt that there was a lot of energy in it. So, just like I had experienced good and influential energy, I decided to go with the theme of 'empathy' with the desire to give that to others," he said.

D.O. also shared that after deciding on the theme of his mini-album, he thought of love, an emotion that anyone can feel.

"After deciding the theme of the album would be 'empathy,' one of the things I thought of was love, an emotion that anyone could feel, and I felt that it would be nice if my songs could comfort others like my previous song 'That's Okay,' so I tried to write the lyrics myself."

EXO-L, EXO's official fandom name, showered D.O. with love and expressed their delight on Twitter.

As of writing, the hashtags #디오_1st_solo_ROSE and #Empathy_ByDO, as well as D.O.'s real name "kyungsoo" are trending in Twitter worldwide.
