Nicole Andersson

Nicole: “Don't just assume that just because you guys are fully vaccinated that you guys will be invincible."

Actress-turned-vlogger Nicole Andersson went public and revealed that she tested positive from the highly-contagious coronavirus disease 2019.

Nicole, who recently returned from a trip to Boracay, said in her vlog she uploaded last Saturday, August 7, why she decided to share her harrowing experience.

Nicole said, “I figured I would share this experience with you guys as well. I don't know if I'm going to have the energy to really vlog everything, but I thought about it and the moment I got my positive result or it said that I have COVID, I realized 'okay, now what?'

“Like I don't know what to do?”

“I haven't really seen a lot of people share like how they got over it. So, I'm hoping: one, I will get better and two that maybe in doing this, you know knock on wood if someone else out there gets it, then maybe they can see that if I do one or two things right and hopefully it can help someone out there.”

The social media personality recalled that a few days after returning from her vacation, she developed a cold.

Fortunately, all the people she came into contact with are doing well and are negative for COVID-19 so far.

“So far, thank goodness, everyone whom I came in contact with in the past week, lahat sila negative.”

She also stressed that everyone is not safe from the dreaded virus, even if you are fully vaccinated just like her.

“We all knew that it was a fact that it could happen, even if I'm fully vaccinated, which I am, I still got it. So, don't just assume that just because you guys are fully vaccinated that you guys will be invincible.”

The Philippines is ramping up its vaccination drive due to the looming threat of the COVID-19 Delta variant.

As of August 8, the health department reported that 11,391, 969 individuals are now fully vaccinated.

Unfortunately, the country has already recorded 1,658,916 COVID-19 infections as of yesterday, August 8. The positivity rate currently stands at 20.3% and the total number of active cases in the country is now more than 77,000.
