TV-movie actor Derek Ramsay clarified during an exchange of messages with a netizen about the perception that he's against getting the COVID-19 shots.

Bankable TV-movie star Derek Ramsay wanted to clarify that he's not against being inoculated with the COVID-19 vaccine.

The government is currently racing against time to vaccinate as many people as possible with the Philippines facing another COVID-19 surge. In addition, health experts are sounding the alarm, after the delta variant has been detected in the country, which they said is more infectious than the other known variants of the coronavirus disease.

In the comment section of one of his Instagram posts, Derek corrected the netizen who told him that he's an “anti-vaxxer.”

He explained that he's just being cautious to protect his health and someday with more information available about the vaccines that he will get his shot.

Derek noted, “Hi Mam. I'm still not confident about it with all the research I've done.

“I respect those who want it and maybe in time dear.”

So far, the country has already administered 24 million doses of vaccines as of August 8. In addition, 11, 391,969 individuals have already been fully inoculated according to the data provided by the Department of Health.
