Paolo Contis has once again proved his versatility as an actor as he received rave reviews from celebrities and netizens alike on his portrayal as Nico in A Faraway Land.
A Faraway Land tells the story of documentarist Nico (Paolo) who goes to the Faroe Islands to film a documentary about a Filipina named Mahjoy (Yen Santos), married to a Faroese.
While doing the documentary, a "complicated love story" begins between Nico and Mahjoy.
In a comment on Paolo's Facebook page, Kim Atienza congratulated his "kumpare" on yet another successful movie.
In 2020, Paolo's two other films - Through Night and Day and Ang Pangarap Kong Holdap - became available on Netflix and were well received by the audience.
He wrote, "Iyakan nanaman ito. tissue please. congrats kumpare."
Paolo's co-star in I Left My Heart in Sorsogon, Queen of Creative Collaborations Heart Evangelista, also congratulated him on A Faraway Land, which became the #1 in Netflix Philippines and 22 other countries worldwide.
Heart wrote, "Shout out to my good friend @paolo_contis for the success of your movie. #1 on Netflix Asia."
Meanwhile, netizens were shocked at Paolo's ability to give justice to a more dramatic role and make them emotional.
