Actress-singer and online celebrity Donnalyn Bartolome had two important messages in one of her latest social media posts.
First, she reminded young breadwinners to enjoy the fruits of their labor. This comes after the death of famed DOTA shoutcaster Aldrin Paulo “Dunoo” Pangan, who recently battled COVID-19.
A month ago, Donnalyn had the chance to meet Dunoo in person. During their meeting, Dunoo even confessed that he has been a fan of Donnalyn since his college days.
In her Instagram post, Donnalyn said, “Kahapon may namatay nanaman na ka-edaran ko, pangalawa na'to so sa mga breadwinners diyan, BUY THAT CAMERA! BUY THAT HOUSE! BUY THAT CAR YOU WANTED FOR YEARS! BUY THAT DRESS OR JEWELLERY! BOOK THAT VACATION!! BUY THAT BAG NA HINIHINTAY MO MAGSALE! BUY THAT PHONE YOU NEED!!”
She then explained why young breadwinners should also spoil themselves using their hard-earned money.
“Pinaghirapan mo 'yan at tama sila, hindi mo madadala sa hukay ang yaman mo. Enjoy it while you're alive!
“Save up for yourself. Yung pinuhunan mo sa kung anong meron ka hindi lang basta pera- dugo't pawis mo yan, every centavo katumbas niyan oras sa buhay mo na di na mababalik.
“REWARD YOURSELF. For a moment, LIVE FOR YOURSELF. You've been living for others your whole life.
“Laging iba inuuna mo. Ikaw naman. Do what makes you happy! Do it to inspire others to be happy!
“Ubos na ubos ka na, magtira ka para sa sarili mo.”
In the same IG post, Donnalyn also shared a throwback photo of herself when she was just starting out as a social media personality.
And she also took a swipe at people who had the nerve to say things to her now that she's famous, despite not being there for her during the early years of her career.
Part of her post reads, “Iba na talaga ang sikat at mapera, nakakalimot na” -message ng taong wala naman pake sa'yo noon nung naghihirap ka 😅”
She also said, “…nung yung mga taong akala mo susuporta sa'yo, for years and years ni hindi naka-Like sa page mo, hindi nakaSubscribe.. tapos ang ending, for no reason, ikaw ang masamang tao kasi sikat ka na, masarap na buhay mo.”
Donnalyn also talked about the hardships of being a social media star that others don't know about, and how some people only remember her when they need something from her.
This also seems to be the reason why she's encouraging young breadwinners like herself to put themselves first, enjoy their hard-earned money and save up and invest for themselves without feeling guilty about it.
