'Gameboys' is the Philippines' lone nominee at this year's International Emmy Kids Awards.
Gameboys, the hit boys' love series starring Pepito Manaloto: Ang Unang Kuwento actor Kokoy de Santos and Elijah Canlas, received a nomination at the prestigious International Emmy Kids Awards, becoming the sole nominee from the Philippines.
Gameboys is nominated for the Kids: Live-Action category, alongside three other shows from Australia, Argentina, and The Netherlands.
Gameboys tells the story of Cairo and Gavreel, who met and fell in love while playing an online game, while the whole country is at the height of the pandemic.
Its first season, which aired on GMA's Heart of Asia channel, is available on The IdeaFirst Company's YouTube channel and Netflix.
The International Emmy Kids Awards is awarded by the International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, which is composed of leading media and entertainment figures from over 60 countries.
The winners will be virtually announced on October 12, 9 p.m. (Manila time).
