GMA Artist Center's David Licauco is now an award-winning actor.

The Kapuso talent was awarded by the 36th PMPC Star Awards for Movies the New Movie Actor of the year award for his role in the 2019 film, “Because I Love You”.

David's acceptance speech was posted on the GMA Artist Center's Instagram account. In the video, David reflected on his “surreal” showbiz journey, noting that he never expected to enter showbiz or even see himself on television, much less be given an award.

Aside from thanking the PMPC, David also took the award as an encouragement to improve his craft and promised to do better and entertain in the future.

In “Because I Love You,” David plays the role of Rael Tansinco, a young man who finds himself attract3d to the tomboyish firefighter Summer played by Shaira Diaz.

Aside from David, fellow Kapuso star Michelle Dee was also recognized as the Best New Movie Actress of the year for her role as Gianna in “Because I Love You”.
