Penthouse 7

Penthouse 7, the iconic GMA Sunday night show, is collaborating with United States-based interest group AARP.

People of a certain generation are sure to remember Penthouse 7, a one-hour show that aired on GMA every Sunday evening that popularized steps like the Swing, Locking, the Robot, the Bump, and many more.

While they may not be on television anymore, the show's Modern Group -- Anna Garcia, Mike Monserrat, Sandy Hontiveros, Marlyn Feliciano, Joannie Feliciano, Ida Ramos Henares, Poncy Quirino, Gina Valenciano, Pipo Liboro, Ronnie Henares, and RayAn Fuentes -- is still active online, even opening a YouTube channel last July.

In fact, the group even recently announced on their Facebook page that they would be collaborating with United States-based group AARP, which works for the interests of people over the age of 50.

Set to launch on October 28, 6 am (Philippine Time) the collaboration is called the “Online Dance Party with AARP and Penthouse 7.” Based on the belief that dance re-energizes and provides pure joy to everyone, the collaboration will give AARP members and anyone interested a night of dancing to hits from the 70s and 80s, with dance instructions provided by the group.

The event makes Penthouse 7 the first Filipino group to lead an interactive event with AARP, which will be live-streamed throughout the entire United States, the Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico.

Penthouse 7 aired from 1974 to 1981 and was hosted by Archie Lacson. Aside from the Modern Group, the show also had the Latin Group made up of Susan Payawal, Rosie Garchitorena, Nini Morato, Eva Abesamis, Tito Garcia, Rudy de Leon, and Angie Pineda.

Interested participants can sign up for the event in the link given on the Facebook post below.
