South Korean singer-rapper CL was one of the members of the now-defunct girl group 2NE1 alongside Park Bom, Minzy, and Sandara Park who first rose to fame in the Philippines.
In an interview with AP Entertainment, CL revealed that just like Minzy, she also found out about the disbandment of their group through news reports. CL turned emotional as she recalls the moment she first learned about the sad announcement.
She said, “Well… I did too, to be honest. I was at a Thanksgiving dinner, and my phone blew up. But yeah, those situations… That was very heartbreaking for me.”
CL also stated that she is currently working on her solo career. She said, “But like I said, now I have a lot of freedom and control over at least what I choose to do, so it's a very exciting chapter for me.”
