Assessing her performance, Beatrice Luigi Gomez believed she could have won the crown. “I know how hard I worked and all I ever did was deliver my best."
Philippine bet Beatrice Luigi Gomez may not have won the country's 5th crown but she nonetheless had no regrets in her performance as she gave it her all at the 70th Miss Universe.
Feisty and determined to win the title, Bea was confident and knew she would make it to the top cut.
“I know how hard I worked and all I ever did was deliver my best. So for me, 'yung best ko (my best) wasn't just limited to Top 16 or Top 10. I was really aiming for the crown,” she said when she face the Filipino press for the first time after the pageant.
Bea however believed that winning the crown was a game of luck and as a way of a true sport, she too celebrates Miss India Harnaaz Sandhu's win.
"It's just that there are other girls who were really destined to get the crown, which is my very good friend Harnaaz Sandhu, and I'm very proud of her," she said.
Assessing her performance, she believed she could have won the crown. Knowing full well that she gave it her all, she was very proud to have ended where she finished.
“No regrets po sa performance ko. Para sa akin, hindi po siya kulang kasi binigay ko lahat. (I have no regrets with my performance. For me, I wasn't lacking in anything. I gave it my all.) I'm just very proud of what I did.”
As for the ever-controversial question and answer, Bea firmly stands by her conviction. Asked if she thinks vaccination against COVID-19 should be made mandatory, the 26-year-old stunner believes that for the sake of public health, inoculation should be enforced on everyone.
“Hindi ko po inexpect na 'yung question na mapupunta sa akin might possibly be something political. Nagdalawang-isip ako as to how I would answer the question but inisip ko na lang kung ano 'yung core values ko at 'yung paghuhugatan ko ng answer and ano'ng stand ko,” she said.
"I believe I did well; it's just that I got nervous kaya 'yung delivery ko 'yung hindi masyadong magaling pero na-deliver ko naman po 'yung answer na gusto kong isagot," she added.
