Manilyn Reynes on Typhoon Odette: "We witnessed how she destroyed houses, structures and threatened the lives of many."

Manilyn Reynes was among the celebrities who witnessed and experienced the wrath of Typhoon Odette that ravaged her hometown Cebu and nearby provinces.

In an Instagram post, the Pepito Manaloto star uploaded a video of her first hand experience of Typhoon Odette. Her video showed how the strong winds and incessant rains heavily ravaged the vicinity of Waterfront Hotel where she was staying.

Manilyn wrote, "We witnessed how she destroyed houses, structures and threatened the lives of many."

The aftermath of the storm revealed overwhelming damage to the hotel. Walls were destroyed, tables, chairs, and other pieces of furniture were displaced, parked vehicles were moved and mud was everywhere as flood waters subsided.

Manilyn, safe and secure through it all, gave a message of gratitude spoken in Visayan at the end of the video.

Typhoon Odette is considered as the most violent storm to hit the country this year. Considered a super typhoon, Odette made nine landfalls and ravaged through the Visayas and Mindanao and some areas in Palawan.

The damage was so extensive that electricity and communication in affected provinces only came back days after the storm's wrath.

Other celebrities who have also been affected by the typhoon are couple Andi Eigenmann and Philmar Alipayo, who continuously seek assistance for hard-hit Siargao.

Slater Young and wife Kryz Uy also called out to the public to give assistance to the massive devastation of typhoon Odette in Cebu.

Other celebrities who voiced out concern and help for the typhoon-stricken provinces include Anne Curtis, Bea Alonzo, Kylie Padilla, Nadine Lustre, Max Collins and KC Concepcion.
