IU bares a new side of her in her highly-anticipated comeback album.
Multi-awarded South Korean superstar IU has unveiled the inspiration behind her upcoming album titled Pieces.
In a new teaser posted on her social media pages yesterday, December 23, the “Celebrity” songstress shared that the 5-track package is a collection of treasured memories that have yet to be revealed to the world.
“The pieces which have yet to be revealed and that I didn't bother to reveal, I gathered all of those pieces into an album which is why I named it Pieces,” she said.
IU explained that this album contains pieces that complete her whole picture, saying, “These songs are all individually precious to me and are part of my memories…But I think, rather than a perfect picture, it's more fitting to describe them as pieces that make up the picture. When you fit the pieces together and gather the five songs, it becomes a [complete] picture.”
On Wednesday, December 22, IU released the first artwork teaser for Pieces, featuring a book pile with titles from her album discography.
Pieces is slated to drop on December 29 at 6:00 pm (KST).
