K-pop superstar and BTS lead rapper SUGA tested positive for COVID-19 on Friday, December 24, after returning home to South Korea, Big Hit Music confirmed.
The “Daechwita” rapper-producer received the positive PCR result during his self-quarantine and was reported to be an asymptomatic carrier. Big Hit said that his fellow BTS members RM, Jin, J-hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook had no contact with SUGA since he came back from the United States on Thursday, December 23.
“He is currently administering self-care at home per the guidelines of the healthcare authorities…We see the artists' health as our top priority, and will do everything we can to aid Suga in his speedy recovery,” they announced.
SUGA was given his second dose of vaccine in August and also tested negative for the virus before traveling to Los Angeles, California for the group's four-day 'Permission to Dance on Stage' concert last November.
