Ruru Madrid and Kylie Padilla

Ruru Madrid opened up about how his Encantadia co-star Kylie Padilla inspires him to love and improve his own craft.

Never kitang nakitang umarte. Kapag minsan, inaabot na [tayo] ng umaga pero never [kang] nagreklamo,” he said in a YouTube video posted on Thursday, January 20.

The Kapuso actor also lauded Kylie for her tireless passion for acting, citing a time he felt remarkably moved by her on the set of their on-screen reunion for Regal Studios Presents: My Fairytale Hero.

Sobrang natuwa ako sa'yo roon,” he said.

“Every time na nagkaka-work tayo, hindi pwedeng hindi mo ako ma-inspire sa kung paano 'yong pagtatrabaho mo.”

Ruru also recalled never hearing Kylie complain despite having to do both emotional and action-heavy scenes for the 2016 remake of Encantadia.

In response to his praises, Kylie reinforced how immersed she gets when taking on a project - from internalizing and playing her character to observing and learning from her peers.

Mahal na mahal ko talaga [sila] so ibibigay ko lahat,” she said.

Looking back at their on-screen romance and off-screen friendship, Ruru stressed how crucial their tandem was in further defining each other's careers.

Lagi kong sinasabi sa'yo, Ky, na I will always care for you…

He added that his admiration for the actress grew when he witnessed her return to the entertainment industry after temporarily halting her career, halfway through Encantadia, due to an unexpected pregnancy in 2017.

Kylie and Ruru's on-screen tandem, dubbed as KyRu, first rose to fame when they played the role of Amihan and Ybrahim in the 2016 reboot of GMA Network's hit fantasy drama Encantadia.

They later reunited for a number of Kapuso series, namely The Cure, TODA One I Love, and their most recent project as of this writing, Regal Studios Presents: My Fairytale Hero.
