"Last night's Presidential interview highlighted how responsible journalism can help shape perspectives & present reality," he said.
The actor also noted the award-winning journalist Jessica Soho's on-point and hard-hitting questions to the candidates that revealed their stance on current issues in the country.
"It started with candidness and evolved into an in-depth scrutiny of complex issues that were made simpler and easier to digest for Filipinos. Diretso sa punto. Walang paligoy-ligoy. It didn't fail to layout the real situation of our country: from climate change… to poverty & corruption… to our Covid response," he said.
The 40-year-old actor further said, "Lumitaw 'yung may plano."
The Jessica Soho Presidential Interviews raked massive positive reactions on social media over the weekend.
Netizens praised the Kapuso award-winning broadcast journalist and her team for her well-researched, straightforward, and tough questions to the presidential candidates.
The interview invited the top five survey-leading candidates namely Manila Mayor Isko Moreno, Senator Panfilo Lacson, Vice President Leni Robredo and Senator Manny Pacquiao.
Unfortunately, former senator Ferdinand Marcos Jr. declined to participate in the interview on claims that Soho is "biased" against the Marcoses.
GMA however was quick to respond and vehemently dispelled Marcos Jr.'s camp's accusations in an official statement and reasoned that indeed, "The questions are tough because the job of the presidency is tough."
In the same post, the Yes Pinoy Foundation founder also encouraged Filipino participate in the coming elections by sharing his process of choosing a candidate.
"Having been born in the early 80's, I think, this is one of the most important elections of our lifetime. Whoever we choose will dictate how we would recover from the global beating this pandemic has caused us.
"Of course, I have my own preference. But this is a product of a process that I'd like to share with young people today."
He went on to the detail of his preferred process:
"PLAN.
"Bago mamili ng iboboto, please make sure you do your research at siguraduhin ang integridad ng source of information. Hindi sapat na magsaliksik lang sa social media. Manood ng interviews kagaya na lang ng sa GMA. You have to go out there and search for what you think you and your country need."
"DISCERN.
"Don't look at winnability or popularity. Search for integrity, competence and committment to the values of humanity. Be sensitive not only to your own circumstance, but also to the plight of your countrymen. Your generation and the next ones will depend on your decisions today.
"ACT.
"Lastly, go our and vote. Claim your role as responsible citizens. You have a role in our society's quest 4 genuine good governance."
