Kapuso actor Gardo Versoza drew nostalgia and funny reactions from his followers when he posted a screenshot of a scene from his iconic 199 film Machete II.

The post included a photo from Machete 2's bodybuilding contest scene showing Gardo standing next to a cameo actor he referred to as Ronald. Another photo showed present-day photo of Gardo with the same cameo actor

Gardo captioned his post with, "28 years ago #machete 🧁👌😉 w/ pro bodybuilder Ronald."

Netizens left comments, one of them calling Gardo by his nickname, Cupcake, which was given to him by close friend Aiai Delas Alas. The netizen wrote, "Immortal ka cupcake! Taglay mo ang birtud ng walang hanggang kabataan. The Fountain of Youth is real.

Another comment read, "Dati Machete, ngayon si Cupcake na."

One netizen complimented Gardo's youthful charm and said, "Buhok lang ang nagbago."

Gardo is about to take a whole different role for upcoming GMA weekend drama, Agimat ng Agila Season 2, where he is among the newest cast, playing the role of villain Zeus Limjoco.

Gardo expressed his gratitude for his new role, "Unang-una nagpapasalamat ako sa GMA, and kay Senator (Ramon "Bong" Revilla Jr.) kasi nabanggit ko sa kanya na matagal ko nang pinapangarap na mapasama sa pelikula o sa TV. Isa siya sa mga haligi ng action genre," he said.

When asked about his role, Gardo said he'll be playing a likeable, sleuthing bag guy. "Mabait akong kontrabida. 'Yung tipong hindi mo isipin na magkakabangga kami ni Major Gabriel (Ramon "Bong" Revilla, Jr.)

"Ibang klaseng pagka-kontrabida siya," he concluded.
