Joey Marquez dishes out showbiz news and issues like a pro in S-Files. In an exclusive interview, he shares his thoughts on being part of the show.
"Sabi nga, para hindi ako ma-tsismis, ako na lang magtsi-tsismis! O di ba? If you can't beat them join them!" This is what Joey Marquez says about being in the hit weekend talk show S-Files which he currently co-hosts with Paolo Bediones, and Pia Guanio. stars In S-Files, each of them has a distinct personality that provides an interesting mix when set together with the other hosts. Joey is the carefree guy. "I don't care! It's an entertainment show – as long as I entertain people." Because S-Files only has live episodes, the hosts have to be resilient when it comes to onscreen mistakes. Joey cites a funny yet embarrassing experience during one taping: "I was reading a line na hindi dapat sa akin. It was on an idiot board, and supposedly, my name is on it, but they erased it, without telling it. I was reading it, but it was for Pia. Pia didn't say anything anymore! That was embarrassing talaga!" stars Joey says that's important to do your own research when it comes to interviewing. This also applies to being an actor in general. "One (has to) learn (about) what (one is) saying and not depend on scripts. You have to have your own research. With anything that comes out of your mouth, it's your responsibility, it's your act. It's not the writer's ass on the line, it's you. So just get the gist, and then have a little research. If it's true, say it, if it's not true, then, don't (say it). Don't allow them to manipulate you." Get the latest buzz on showbiz from this veteran host and his colleagues! Tune in on Sundays, after Magic Kamison.
