Did you know that Althea and Bruce first met in 2017 while attending acting workshops of GMA?
In June 2020, in the middle of the pandemic, Kapuso teen stars Althea Ablan and Bruce Roeland started their YouTube channel, AlBruce, which also marked the birth of their loveteam.
Their loveteam was well-received by the fans that their first vlog raked in over 130,000 views.
Less than two years since the birth of their YouTube channel, Althea and Bruce, alongside four other up-and-coming love teams, was launched as "Sparkle Sweethearts."
But unknown to many, Althea and Bruce have been acquainted since 2017, when they were both newbies in the show business.
Bruce recalled in the cover story of VillagePipol magazine, "We were little kids attending acting workshops in GMA. It was a long time ago and we were awkward with each other due to a language barrier."
Bruce, who grew up in Belgium, had a difficult time speaking Filipino while Althea, who grew up in the Philippines, was comfortable speaking the native language.
Five years after meeting each other for the first time, Althea was more than proud that she saw Bruce's growth.
Althea was quoted as saying, "Compared before, si Bruce mahiyain siya sa akin pero ngayon, parang wala na lang dahil comfortable na kami sa isa't isa. Akala mo lang sa una masungit siya pero hindi pala, sobrang bait niya and may respect."
Now, the love team of Althea and Bruce transended YouTube as they currently star as Donna Marie and Hugo in GMA's hit afternoon drama Prima Donnas.
