Korean singers Jay Park and IU are topping iTunes charts in various countries with their first collaboration for the song “Ganadara."
This marks Jay Park's first single under his new label MORE VISION.
Previously, Jay Park was CEO of music labels AOMG and H1GHR MUSIC.
He announced this year that he would be stepping down from his position as CEO of both but would remain as a consultant.
On February 18, he announced through his official YouTube channel in an interview with “MORE TALK with Yoo Hee Yeol” that he was establishing a new entertainment company.
"Ganadara" featuring IU debuted at the 17th spot on iTunes upon its release on March 11.
The track reached #1 on iTunes charts in seven countries, including Macau, Malaysia, Mongolia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, and Thailand.
"Gandara" ranked among the top 10 on iTunes Hong Kong, Philippines, Vietnam, and Indonesia.
Jay expressed his gratitude for having the chance to work with IU in one of his interviews with Korean media.
“She [IU] said 'Let's work together someday when there's an opportunity,' and I instantly started making the song and asked her (to collaborate),” Jay said.
He added, “When you think of us two it may be hard to imagine what ambience the combination would be,” he admitted.
