For Kapuso leading lady Louise Delos Reyes, turning a year older is something she looks forward to. Now that she's 21 years old, the actress who played Marilyn Carbonel in Mundo Mo'y Akin is ready to face life on her own, by living alone and managing her own finances.

We caught up with the birthday girl during her birthday celebration held in a club at The Fort last September 25, where we found out that she has been living independently in the last few months.

May sinasabi nga silang immersion. Ngayon, tinetesting ko na ako lang mag-isa and so far, ineenjoy ko siya and I like it," kuwento ni Louise, who turned 21 last September 1.

Sa una, very excited. Parang may place akong papagandahin, and lalagyan ng gamit, lalagyan ng grocery. Excited ako mag-grocery. Pero mga a week after, doon na ako nag-iisip ng 'Shucks ang pera ko nasa akin. Anong gagawin ko dito?' So nag-open ako ng bank account, ako nagche-check ng lahat," pagdedetalye niya.

As much as she wants to ask her mom for help, she refrains from doing so. Ako pa rin 'to pero I'm more independent talaga in decision-making. Ngayon, super adjusted na ako."

When asked what her mom's reaction was on her decision to be independent, Louise admitted that like any mother, her mom was not as excited as she was. Ngayon papahirapan mo sarili mo.' Parang ako, nakikita ko 'yung good side na 'Aww, she misses me.'

She has also become wiser in spending her hard-earned money, unlike before where she pretty much gets what she wants.

As for her birthday wish, this is what the young Kapuso actress had to say. "Siguro to stay humble. Siyempre hindi naman natin masasabi, so kailangan mag-stay humble and sana mag-continue pa 'yung mga blessings na natatanggap ko. Actually wala na akong mahihiling because I am very blessed sa family ko, super supportive sila. Siguro, sana maipagpatuloy lang 'to lahat."
