Video streaming giant Netflix released a new teaser video about the much-awaited series Wednesday, which is based on the hit '90s film The Addams Family.
Executive producer and director, Tim Burton, talked about this version of Wednesday played by the stunning Jenna Ortega.
Tim noted, “Wednesday is like the classic outsider, obviously. You know she sees things very black and white--mainly black. But, in the past incarnations she's been very cartoony, so in this longer form you just try to give it a reality, which I love.”
Tim also praised their lead star, whom she described as a “silent movie actress” in this series.
He explained, “She's like a silent movie actress in a sense that she's able to convey things without words. To see the inner life and the subtleties was very exciting.”
The director added, “And that's why we are very lucky to have Jenna, cause I can't imagine any other Wednesday.”

Meanwhile, Jenna stressed that she wanted a different version of Wednesday, from the one in the movies portrayed by Christina Ricci.
She stated, “It was really important to me that I did something different, even though she has been done so flawlessly in the past.”
“She's a bit more socially awkward. There's a confidence there but it's more concealed.”
