Who among the Sparkle artists were nominated for the 35th Awit Awards? Read on and find out.
One of the best accomplishments that artists can have is to be recognized, especially if it's a music award-giving body like the Awit Awards. In the most recent 35th Awit Awards, however, a number of Sparkle artists have shown that they have been recognized for being nominated in several categories.
Awit Awards are music awards given annually, recognizing outstanding achievements and artists in the music industry. They are given by the Philippine Association of the Record Industry, an organization representing the recording industry distributors in the Philippines.
In the 35th iteration of the awards, several Sparkle artists were nominated, including Maria Clara at Ibarra star Julie Ann San Jose, who was nominated for the Music Video of the Year award for her single Try Love Again.
Meanwhile, Bianca Umali was nominated for the New Female Recording Artist award, while Sanya Lopez was nominated for the People's Voice Favorite Female Artist award. Ken Chan was also nominated for the People's Voice Favorite Male Artist award while Kelvin Miranda for the People's Voice Favorite Breakthrough Artist award.
Running Man Ph cast Kokoy De Santos was nominated for New Male Recording Artist award for his song “Lagi Lagi” and will be battling it out with Jeremiah Tiancgo for his single “Titulo.”
Jessica Villarubin was also nominated for the Best Performance by a new Female Recording Artist award for her single “Ako Naman.”
Hannah Precillas, meanwhile, was able to nab two nominations: as the New Female Recording Artist of the Year award for her song “Sabi Ko na nga Ba” and for the Best Ballad recording for her song “Awit Kay Inay.”
Miss Saigon star Garrett Bolden was also able to nab two nominations: one for the People's Favorite Male artist award and one for the People's Voice Favorite Song award for his single "Our Love."
Sparkle's all-female vocal group XOXO did not let fans down as they were nominated for two awards as well: for the People's Voice Favorite Group Artist awards and for the Duo/Group Artist of the year award.
The voting period will end on November 11 at 12 p.m. and the winners will be announced on November 23 at 5 p.m. with the results to be posted on the Awit Awards Facebook page.
