In “Lupin,” Brigitte knows she’s got it, and she flaunts it. But in real life, Ehra Madrigal admits that she’s never really used her looks to get what she wants. Text by Jillian Q. Gatcheco. The thing that captivates people about Ehra is not only her Marilyn Monroe-esque figure, but its dangerous combination with girlish appeal that doesn’t fail to endear and amuse with its innocent charm. If Ehra doesn’t take advantage of her unique qualities, is it all right for other women to use theirs? “It just so happens na ‘yun ‘yung parang edge ng girls (sa Lupin). Instead of mag-iisip kami ng plan or something, parang mas madali, lalo na ‘yung iba, like guys would give in to the temptation na porke’t naka sexy outfit, papayag na kaagad. Pero it doesn’t necessarily mean naman na kailangan naka-sexy outfit kami parati! May plano rin naman minsan kung paano gagawin (ang missions)! Katulad ngayon, hindi ako naka sexy outfit.” Playing dress-up During the interview, Ehra was wearing a dark jumpsuit used to disguise herself as someone working for a pest control company. She just finished taping a scene with Richard Gutierrez at the quaint streets of “Little Baguio” along Jose Abad Street, Quezon City. The only thing that Ehra admits is she loves to play dress-up in the series, especially since her character as a thief involves well-planned heists and her knife-throwing prowess. “First, I get to wear different kinds of clothes, tapos pangalawa, I get to portray a different kind of person each time. Nung una, naka-two piece ako, pangalawa, as a waitress, and then ngayon, kunwari nagwo-work ako sa building, tapos nasa pesticide (business). ‘Yun ‘yung fun, tapos marami akong nagagawa – minsan pa-astig, minsan pa-girl, so hindi lang parang isa lang inaabangan ng tao. Hindi parang thge same thing every time. Iba-iba parati.” She tells me of her wardrobe designer’s remark that it may come to a point that the viewers wouldn’t pay attention to their acting anymore, because they’d be too distracted looking at something else! Fan feedback Ehra spills that most of the feedback she’s been getting is about her skimpy outfits! “Medyo nakaka-conscious kasi last year lang naman talaga ako sobrang natuto na mag-wear ng two piece! Hindi ako most of the time lumalabas na parating naka-skimpy outfit, but then, kailangan sa character, so medyo nagsasanay na rin ako. Kaya lang, ‘yun nga, dahil medyo nasanay, akala na lang ng tao every time sa show, naka-pasexy (kami)!” The rigors of taping almost everyday prevented Ehra from visiting the gym to exercise. As a result, she tries to maintain her figure by eating right, and at times, sleeping instead of eating! “Kailangan kasi nga, kasi parating yun pa rin, naka-sexy outfits!
