Gloc-9 and Reg Rubio of Greyhoundz hope to inspire people to achieve their dream in their upcoming charity concert.
Rap icon Gloc-9 and vocalist of the rock band Greyhoundz Reg Rubio share their thoughts on achieving one's dream in line with their upcoming charity concert.
Glock-9 and Greyhoundz are set to appear in a Rock for Charity concert on December 9. The concert will be held to help abandoned minors, senior citizens, and families. It will also benefit the Pasay Social Development and City Youth homes to help provide better social services to the families in Pasay.
In an online pocket press conference, Gloc-9 said the concert is an opportunity to give hope to people who want to achieve their dreams.
“Kung mapapakita namin sa kanila na: 'Hindi iyan, hindi lang iyan ang pwede mong maging kwento. Pwede ka pang mas mangarap pa, pwede mong abutin ang pangarap mo,' I think more than anything else, pwede namin 'yan mai-share yan sa kanila, makatulong din kami sa kanila,” he said.
Likewise, Reg said that they also want to send a message that people with humble beginnings can also work towards their dream.
On the other hand, Gloc-9 said that the Filipinos should not be limited to what they can achieve.
“Kasi, minsan ang mahirap kapag sinabi, lalo na yung mga kapos natin na mga kababayan. Sinabi nila na, 'Eto lang talaga kasi kaya namin, e, eto lang kasi, e, wala, eto lang talaga siguro kami.' I think yun ang pinakaproblema,” he said.
He also noted, "I think iba lang ng circumstances sa buhay pero, definitely, yung pangarap na pwede mong gawin, pantay-pantay lang tayong lahat 'pag nagsimula,” he concluded.
