SEVENTEEN and Bang Si hyuk

Carats could not have been more proud!

Last December 9, K-pop boy group SEVENTEEN and HYBE chairman Bang Si-hyuk received the Culture Ambassador Award at the Los Angeles, Capital of Culture & Creativity (LA3C) festival in the US.

Held at The Hammer Museum in Los Angeles, the three-day festival hosted by the Penske Media Corporation celebrates the rich culture and immense creativity of the host city. On its first day, SEVENTEEN and Bang Si-hyuk got recognized for their efforts in bridging the Western and Asian cultures and received the Culture Ambassador Award.

Having been able to receive this award, HYBE's chairman shared, “While simultaneously thinking that this [award] is cheering on the efforts of HYBE, which is presenting various cultural content based on music and artists to fans around the word, I feel a sense of responsibility to work harder to create higher quality music and content.”

SEVENTEEN, who also performed at the festival on its second day and made locals dance to their song "AJU NICE" more than five times, also gave their sentiments shared and said, “This year, we communicated with fans while having our tour concerts across various locations including Seoul, the United States, Canada, Southeast Asia, and Japan over several months. We thoroughly felt that we were becoming one through music regardless of culture and language. As the exchange between different cultures expands, we are happy and proud that SEVENTEEN can also play a role.”

It is only befitting that the K-pop boy band receive this award as they've undergone numerous efforts to bring the Hallyu wave and blend it with the Western culture. Just look at the growing number of Carats all over the world. Even Wednesday star Emma Myers is part of the fandom!

Congratulations, SEVENTEEN and chairman Bang Si-hyuk!
