Kim Soo-hyun said his second fan meeting in Manila exceeds his expectations.

South Korean actor Kim Soo-hyun was amazed to see thousands of Filipino fans gather together at his second fan meet in the country, which was held at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City last night, January 17.

In Korean, Soo-hyun said that the turnout at the event was "more than expectation."

"The last time I came here we also had a fan meeting, he really had a good time and a lot of expectations. It's the same this time," said Soo-hyun who repeatedly said "Wow" as he looked at his fans giving deafening screams.

Soo-hyun first visited the Philippines in June 2021 for a fan meet organized by a local clothing brand Bench.

Last night's event, which was sponsored by popular donut chain Dunkin', was filled with fun games where selected fans got a chance to interact with him up close. There were also lucky attendees who had a chance to have a photo taken with him on stage.

In an interview with the event host Jessica Lee, the 34-year-old S. Korean celebrity revealed that he's working on a new acting project this year.

The former It's Okay Not To Be Okay star said that he will draw inspiration from his Filipino fans when he goes back to South Korea.

In Korean, he said, "With all the love and support that I received today, I will do my best in my project and will make sure to see you, guys, as soon as possible again."

Soo-hyun looks forward to seeing the same energy he witnessed last night if ever he comes back for another fan event.

Soo-hyun also left a message to his Filipino fans, saying in Korean, "Since it's the beginning of the year, I hope you, guys, will have a lot of blessings to come."

He then ended it by speaking in Tagalog the phrase: "Mahal kita."

Soo-hyun gained popularity among Pinoys through his previous Kdrama titled My Love From the Star, which Filipino-dubbed version was aired on GMA. The Kapuso network also created a local adaptation of the said TV series, which featured Jennylyn Mercado and Gil Cuerva.
