Just a few days after surprising fans with the news of his new solo single, J-hope of the global group BTS has dropped the teaser video for "on the street."
The 40-second teaser was uploaded on the HYBE LABELS YouTube channel, a day before the song's official release.
The video opened with the rapper-dancer walking on a rooftop with his back facing the camera, but what surprised the fans is when he met American rapper J. Cole at the end.
A whistling of a melodic tune can also be heard playing in the background.
The end of the video showed the song's title, "on the street," along with J. Cole's name.
J-hope has always been vocal about J. Cole being one of his biggest inspirations in the industry. Their meeting at the Lollapalooza last year was shown in J-hope's solo documentary, 'j-hope IN THE BOX.'
According to BigHit Music, “on the street,” gives a nod to J-hope's roots, which is a street dance, that started his dream to become an artist and “the path the artist and fans will continue to walk together."
“on the street” will be released on March 3, Friday, at 2 p.m. KST (1 p.m. in Manila).
The single will follow J-hope's acclaimed first solo album, Jack In The Box, released in 2022.
J-hope previously collaborated with South Korean R&B artist Crush for “Rush Hour" and with Becky G for his remake of “Chicken Noodle Soup.”
