American actor Nicholas Pryor passed away at the age of 89.
The Hollywood community is mourning the loss of veteran actor Nicholas Pryor, who passed away at the age of 89.
Nicholas died on Monday, October 7 (US time) at his home in Wilmington, North Carolina. His agent, Susan Tolar Walters, confirmed his passing on Wednesday, revealing that the cause was cancer.
In a heartfelt tribute on Instagram, Nicholas' agency honored the late actor, “Nicholas was an incredible individual, both inside and out. He will be greatly missed.”
They also shared a photo of Nicholas and Susan on their Instagram story with their message, "Rest in peace Nicholas Pryor. You hold a very special place in my heart."

Nicholas' wife and American actress Christine Belford also confirmed the news to the media. According to The Hollywood Reporter, it was written in a note to be delivered to THR: “Nicholas Pryor was enormously grateful to have been, for nearly 70 years, a working actor.”
Over his nearly seven-decade career, Nicholas appeared in numerous soap operas, including Another World in 1964 and The Nurses in the '60s. In the late '90s and early 2000s, he portrayed Victor Collins, the father of Dr. Kevin Collins (played by Jon Lindstrom), on General Hospital and its spinoff, Port Charles.
The General Hospital family expressed their sorrow on X (formerly Twitter). "The entire General Hospital Family is saddened to hear of Nicholas Pryor's recent passing. We would like to extend our condolences to his loved ones during this difficult time. His character's namesake will continue to live on in Jonathan Lindstrom and Kevin Collins. May he rest in peace."
One of his most recognizable roles was as the chancellor of the fictional California university in Beverly Hills, 90210 in the 1990s. He also shared the screen with Tom Cruise in Risky Business.
Beyond his career, Nicholas was a devoted husband to Christine and a father to his daughter, Stacey Pryor. Before his passing, he was also a loveable grandfather to his grandchildren, Auguste and Avril Bas.
