Social media star and businessman Nico Bolzico couldn't hide his disappointment after receiving "genuine hate" over his passionate support for Team Argentina at the FIFA World Cup held in the United States.
Spain defeated the South American nation at the New York/New Jersey Stadium (MetLife Stadium) to clinch their second men's World Cup title.
The husband of Solenn Heussaff began his post to share his love for football. Nico stated, “This final I had the privilege of watching it with my dad (83 years old) and the rest of my family.
“It was also the first World Cup that Tili truly understood. We watched some matches together, like I did with my dad growing up.
“We love football. It runs through our veins. But we should never forget that it's just a sport—a sport that's meant to bring people together.”
Nico then shared that receiving hate on social media will never be okay. Talking about what happened, he noted, “Sadly, for the first time, we've experienced genuine hate on social media simply because of the team we support, mostly from people who don't understand what sports truly represent or the values we believe in. Banter is part of football. Hate is not.
“I agree with many of the criticisms. But that's never a reason to spread hatred toward anyone.
“Spain was the better team throughout the match and fully deserved to be champions.”
Solenn and Nico tied the knot in a civil wedding ceremony in Argentina in 2015. Now, the Bolzico couple have two children, Thylane Katana and Maelys Lionel.
