In the episode Love Is Hard, Sparkle artists Nikki Co and Cheska Fausto tell a story that blends romance, tradition, and the challenges that come with it.

Richmond (Nikki), a nerdy Chinese guy, finds himself running their family hardware store. He has no choice but to manage their business, and his whole life revolves around it. His life is simple, predictable, and uninspired, until Beverly (Cheska), a lively and noisy woman, walks into the shop to buy materials for her dream house.

For the first time, Richmond falls in love. But he does not know how to court, and his mother insists on a Chinese daughter-in-law. Still, Richmond chooses to follow his heart instead of his mother's wishes. Determined to win Beverly's affection, he seeks the help of his loyal employee to learn how to court her.

But as Richmond takes his first steps toward love, he faces a painful truth. Will this be the beginning of his very first relationship, or the sting of his very first heartbreak?
