As an actor who had been exposed to showbiz early in his life, Niño Muhlach knows that it was his father, Alexandar Muhlach, who was instrumental in guiding, supporting, and teaching him to stay financially stable even in his adult years.
In his interview on Karen Davila's vlog, Niño detailed how after his parents Alexander and Rebecca Rocha separated during the height of his career, it was his dad who guided and took care of him.
However, the actor admitted that he didn't know the reason for his parent's separation.
“I don't know if it's because of my fame kung bakit sila naghiwalay or because of our situation kasi my dad was producing my films, then my mom, siya 'yung nagbabantay sa'kin,” he said.
He added, “Pero I think it is better na nagkahiwalay sila kesa nakikita mo naman laging nag-aaway.”
According to Niño, while his dad produced his movies, it was his mom who took care of him during tapings. However, after their separation, it was his uncle, Aga Muhlach's dad Alvaro, who took care of him during that time.
Niño also expressed his thanks to his dad for always being there to help him, making sure that Niño's earnings would be placed in a trust fund that he could access when he's older.
“I really owe everything to my dad. He really looked out for my future,” he said.

He recalled a message that his dad would always say to him, “Atsaka 'yung daddy ko, at the height of my popularity, lagi po niyang pinapaalala sa'kin, 'Niño, dadating 'yung araw, mawawala lahat 'yan. Mawawala lahat 'yang kasikatan mong 'yan. So 'pag dumating 'yung araw na 'yun, kailangan handa ka.'”
This prepared the actor for when his career took a dip when he became a teenager. On the bright side, he got to enjoy his teenage years, something that he was not able to do when he was a child star.
“I enjoyed my friends, I enjoyed going out, doing the stuff that I've been wanting to do na walang kasamang bodyguard,” he noted.
In the Sept. 9 episode of Sarap 'Di Ba?, Niño clarified the issue that all his earnings from when he was a child star were mishandled. He noted how the trust fund that his dad put up for him could only be accessed after meeting either of these conditions: earning a college degree, or turning 25 years old.
The actor added he used some of his earnings to put up an apartelle, and his own bake shop business.
