After a season holding the reigns of the popular fantasy series Fantastic Man, what are the challenges that Director Zoren Legaspi faces now? What does he do to keep the show fresh without alienating the fans of the show? "Ang mahirap kasi sa Fantastic Man, 'yung audience laging may hinahanap na bago," Director Zoren Legaspi explains that because of their good ratings, there's a bigger pressure to maintain the high rating of the show. "Ang challenge sa amin ay ma-maintain 'yung rating na 'yun hindi lang sa story, (kundi) pati na rin sa special effects, sa story-telling ng director, sa mga bagong villains na makakalaban." Happy that the ratings are consistently high, Zoren attributes it to the fresh storylines that the writers had thought up. "It was a good scripting, dahil mga bata ngayon 'yung mga villains at hindi nila sinasadyang maging masama." "Pagbalik nila dito may kani-kanya na silang powers," he continues. "Challenge rin 'yun to make every villain different. Bago 'yun eh. Wala pa ako masyadong napapanood na tv series na ganun na naipalabas sa atin." Asked about the difficulties of directing new actors, Zoren admits that whether he's directing veteran actors or newbies, there will always be pros and cons. "Kapag veteran actors, mabilis silang ma-direct kaya lang may kani-kaniya na silang styles. Sa mga baguhan naman, although kaya nilang i-adapt ang gusto ng director, ang mahirap naman doon is kung gaano nila kabilis matututunan 'yun." But the director confesses that he loves directing new talents. "Iba 'yung challenge sa akin kung napapalabas ko 'yung talent nila." Zoren does plan on going beyond Fantastic Man, but for now he's happy where he is. "I'm happy with Fantastic Man. Mabigat ang soap eh, kailangan in love ka rin sa story na gagawin mo." He did share that next time, he wants to propose a story of his own when GMA asks him to helm a new project. As for Fantastic Man, here's what Zoren wants us to watch out for! "Abangan nila 'yung mga iba't-ibang klaseng villains na kalaban ni Fantastic Man, at 'yung mga bagong twists na: mabubuhay ba ulit 'yung tatay ni Fredo?
