It’s the time of the year when Philippine cinema takes the spotlight. This 2013, spread the holiday cheer and bond with your loved ones by watching your favorite Kapuso stars at the Metro Manila Film Festival.

Included in this year’s official list of entries is the touching biopic, Pedro Calungsod: Ang Batang Martir. Taking on the title role is Akin Pa Rin Ang Bukas lead actor, Rocco Nacino. The film’s theme song entitled, “Awit ni Pedro” was performed by Rocco. Also joining the cast are fellow GMA artists Victor Basa, Ryan Eigenmann, Carlo Gonzales and Arthur Solinap. Kapuso child star Marc Justine Alvarez will be playing the young Pedro Calungsod.

Another entry to watch out for is the action-packed 10,000 Hours. Under the helm of Genesis director Bb. Joyce Bernal, the film explores the workings of corruption and political controversies in the Philippines. Joining the cast are Carmela leading man Alden Richards, Kapuso leading lady Bela Padilla and seasoned actors Raymart Santiago and Bobby Andrews.

Dance floor sweethearts Sef Cadayona and Yassi Pressman step it up in Kaleidoscope World, which is inspired by the music of Master Rapper Francis Magalona. Sef and Yassi play the roles of Lando and Elsa, respectively, who find themselves falling in love with each other after meeting in a hip-hop dance audition. The film also stars Kapuso actress Mayton Eugenio.

One of the most anticipated films among the entries is My Little Bossings headlined by Bossing Vic Sotto and the youngest talk show host in the Philippines, Ryzza Mae Dizon. Watch the two bring their hilarious antics to the big screen!

Kapuso artists TJ Trinidad and Louise delos Reyes will also be participating in the New Wave section of the film festival.

TJ will be starring in the graded A film Mga Anino ng Kahapon, where he will play the role of Ed, a man who has to come to terms with the fact that his wife has schizophrenia.

Louise delos Reyes will be leading the cast of Island Dreams. She will portray the character of Julie, an aspiring singer whose life takes a dramatic turn when she falls in love with a foreigner who visits the small island where she lives. Louise will be paired with French-Chinese actor, Alex Petiprez.
