Despite Carding and his family’s efforts to keep his secret from Lupe, the truth still found its way out as Luming and Greco interrupted the wedding with their announcement of Carding’s crime. Lupe was inconsolable, and the overflowing love she had for Carding was immediately replaced by anger. She then backed out on the wedding.
Ashamed of what happened, Lupe returned to Payatas and braved the taunts of the people around her. Carding begged Lupe’s forgiveness, but no matter what he did, Lupe did not want to listen. Soon, everyone in the dumpsite learned about Carding’s wrongdoing, his family put to shame.
To lessen Lupe’s anger and spare his family from further disgrace, Carding surrendered himself to the police--at the exact moment when Lupe decided to file a case against him. In jail, Carding met Kadyo, who was very surprised to find out he raped Lupe.
