Filipino-Canadian nurse, comedian, and content creator John Dela Cruz, popularly known as Nurse John, has achieved another major milestone after making it to Forbes' Top Creators 2026 list.
Nurse John ranked No. 28 on the prestigious list, which recognizes some of the world's most influential digital personalities. According to Forbes, he has amassed 19.2 million followers across social media platforms and earned an estimated $7.2 million, or around P441 million.
The publication also highlighted the success of his Short-Staffed Tour, which has sold more than 250,000 tickets since launching in 2024. Its tour extensions, including shows across Europe, Australia, and New Zealand, have also drawn strong demand from fans.
Known for his humorous and relatable content about life as a healthcare worker, Nurse John first gained popularity during the COVID-19 pandemic. While working as a frontline nurse in Canada, he began creating videos as a creative outlet and a way to cope with the challenges of hospital life.
In a previous interview with Rolling Stone Philippines, Nurse John shared that he wanted to give healthcare workers a platform to tell stories about what happens behind the scenes in hospitals.
"The only thing the public really knows is that we give medication and wrap bandages. No, we do more than that. We have multiple jobs we don't get paid for. But we do them all because we chose to be nurses," he said.
His content quickly resonated with audiences worldwide, eventually opening doors to a successful career in comedy and live entertainment.
Earlier this year, Nurse John brought his "Short-Staffed Tour" to the Philippines and performed at the Mall of Asia Arena. Following the show, he expressed his gratitude to Filipino fans and described the experience as a meaningful return to his roots.
"Manila, Philippines went back to my roots, my motherland, and my beautiful culture and people. Brought them some laughs, grounded myself and reminded where I came from and did my first ever Arena Show in my country! Love you Pinas!" he wrote on Instagram.
This year's Forbes Top Creators list features 50 creators who collectively earned more than $1 billion, placing Nurse John among the world's biggest digital stars.
