Ogie Alcasid opens up about building and loving his blended family.

OPM icon Ogie Alcasid shares stories and take-aways on his blended family, with Regine Velasquez and Michelle Van Eimeren.

In an interview with showbiz columnist Ogie Diaz, the singer-host opened up about their family's journey as a long process filled with patience and love.

"Again, hindi siya madali at saka hindi siya nangyayari ng isang araw lang," he said.
He emphasized that the key to a harmonious blended family lies in the actions and maturity of the adults.

"Kailangan as adults mas malawak 'yung pag-intindi ninyo. Kasi may mga batang involved at kahit ano pa man pagka nagkahiwalay ang mag-asawa, kahit 'di sabihin ng mga anak nararadaman nila 'yan e," he added.

"So kailangan isaalang-alang 'yung mental health (at) 'yung well-being ng mga bata. Hindi nila kasalanan e na nangyayari 'yun."

Ogie also stressed the importance of clear communication and shared responsibilities in co-parenting.

"Ang importante sa amin co-parenting tayo. 'Yung forgiveness, 'yung how we all get along it will all come," he shared.

Despite the positive outcome, Ogie admitted that he sometimes questions himself as a father, especially as he reconnects with his children living abroad.

Reflecting on his past separation, he shared how deeply he considered its impact on their kids.

"I'm sure ngayon nakikita nila ah okay. Everybody happy. But 'yung stigma nu'ng paghihiwalay masakit 'yun. So ako, bitbit ko 'yun na kahit ano pa mang isipin mo 'Maayos naman ang pamumuhay ng anak ko. Ginawa mo naman lahat ng kailangan mong gawin, e.' May point na iniisip ko lagi 'yun."

Currently, Ogie's family continues to share inspiration and love with their meet-ups and dates together.

Ogie also hosts the fun noontime program It's Showtime, every weekdays to Saturdays, 12 noon on GMA.
