It's Showtime host and OPM icon Ogie Alcasid took to social media to honor his late friend and fellow musician Davey Langit.

In an emotional post, Ogie shared a throwback video of Davey joyfully receiving a surprise jersey gift. Along with it, he penned a touching message that reflected his deep admiration and grief.

"Davey… hindi pa rin ako makapaniwala. Ito yung pinadala mo na video sa akin nung natanggap mo surprise ko sa'yo nu'ng nanalo OKC. Ang saya saya mo," he wrote."Marami kami na nagmamahal sa'yo at humahanga sa galing mo sa pag sulat at pag awit. Higit sa lahat sa napakabuti mong puso."

Ogie said Davey's passing came as a shock since they had just exchanged messages a week prior. He also sent his condolences to the grieving family.

"Rest in peace inaanak. Sing with the angels," he said.

Fans and friends flooded the comment section with condolences. Fellow artists Jugs Jugueta, Lara Maigue, and Gian Magdangal also sent words of comfort and support.

Davey's wife, Therese Villarante-Langit, confirmed the heartbreaking news through a heartfelt post.

“He felt so loved by you all these past few days. Thank you for filling his heart with so much gratitude, community, and hope,” she wrote, expressing her appreciation for the outpouring of love and support the family received.

She also announced memorial services will be held in Santa Rosa, Laguna (October 23-26) and Urdaneta (October 27-29) to honor Davey's life and legacy.

Before his passing, Davey revealed that he had been battling a rare spinal infection.

"I've been diagnosed with spondylodiscitis, a spine infection around my thoracic 8 vertebrae. Here in the hospital for three days now. After kasi ng MRI, kailangan ng CT-scan and biopsy procedure to determine what we're dealing with exactly and para malaman din ano course of action moving forward," he shared.

Davey began his music journey in Pinoy Dream Academy Season 1. Over the years, he became a respected singer-songwriter, penning hits such as “Dalawang Letra” that became the 2016 Himig Handog P-Pop Love Songs grand winner.
