Jan Manual is finding his niche in comedy, a path quite different from his other StarStruck batchmates.
Another StarStruck batch 4 finalist is slowly inching his way to stardom, but unlike his counterparts, Jan Manual has chosen comedy instead of the usual teenybopper roles that his fellow StarStruck members have chose to do. Known for his impersonations of the Pambansang Kamao, Manny Pacquiao, Jan is slowly carving his way through the world of show business. Text by Loretta G. Ramirez They say it is harder to make people laugh than cry and that is why few comedians have succeeded in show business. Many have tried but only a handful have captured the attention of their viewers. One of these lucky few is a very young comic from San Pedro, Laguna named Jan Manual. Pacman in Struck Attack stars Every Saturday during the Struck Attack segment of Startalk,, we see Jan Manual impersonate Manny Pacquiao. Very effective in imitating the star of Pinoy Records, this young comedian has amused a lot of people, including Manny himself. “Nag start ‘yun StarStruck days pa lang. Parang joke lang ‘yun sa ‘kin na ginaya ko 'yung commercial ni Pacquiao,” says the young comedian. He said that it was his way of making the judges notice him during the course of the star search. It has somehow stuck and now he is making a name for himself by giving comic relief in Startalk. Jan’s plans Quite funny in person, Jan has intimated to iGMA that he really wants to concentrate on comedy. “Comedy talaga, pwede rin pong drama basta 'yung pacute-cute lang, 'yung tipong binabatukan ako, pwede na (smiles),” says the Pacquiao impersonator. stars He notes that he idolizes Michael V. and Jim Carey when it comes to making people laugh. But one thing that iGMA found out is that Jan has plans of relocating to the States if his showbiz career does not work out. “Inoobserbahan ko po kung maganda 'yung pasok nitong year, pero kung hindi, punta po ko ng States.” Whatever happens next year, Jan promises to give his best in all the projects that the GMA Artist Center will give him, be it impersonating Manny Pacquiao or cracking jokes in any of his guestings. Be amused by his comic antics every Saturday in Startalk right after Eat Bulaga! You can also get in touch with this young comedian thru Fanatxt. Text JAN and send to 4627.
