
Actress, singer, and songwriter Olivia Rodrigo made waves on the internet with her concert film Sour Prom as it debuted in a livestream on June 30 (Philippine time).
The concert film featured songs from Olivia's album Sour and showed her performing in the back of a limousine, on a dance floor, in a darkroom, and with a marching band on a football field, reminiscent of a high school prom.
The 18-year-old American singer of Filipino descent posted a short thank you note on social media, showing behind-the-scenes from the Sour Prom. The post has garnered over a million likes as of this writing.
"SOUR prom is out now!!!!! huge thanks to everyone who made this happen and my bestiez for being in it with me. let's party it up y'all!!!!" Olivia wrote.
The hashtag #SOURProm also took over the top spot in Twitter Philippines' trends.
Olivia is known for her roles as Nini Salazar-Roberts on the Disney+ series High School Musical: The Musical: The Series and as Paige Olvera on the Disney Channel series Bizaardvark.
She is signed with Interscope and Geffen Records in 2020. Her debut single "Drivers License" was released in January 2021. It reached number one in multiple countries, including the United States.
Her debut album, 'Sour,' was released on May 21, 2021. Her two succeeding singles "Deja Vu" and "Good 4 U", came from the album, with the "Good 4 U" becoming her second single to debut at number one in the US.
