Even before the pandemic, Christmas season is usually the time when many overseas Filipino workers (OFW) would return to the country to spend time with their family. Aside from the pasalubong packed inside the balikbayan box, many look forward to finally reuniting and hugging their loved ones, who they have missed so much.
An OFW from Taiwan named Emyrose Lobo recently surprised her family when she came home unannounced. But instead of just showing up at their door, Emyrose decided to surprise her family in a prank-like manner.
In a recent episode of On Record, Emyrose shared the actual video of her funny and heartwarming return to her family in Angeles City, Pampanga last November 21.
In the video, Emyrose can be seen wearing a brown dress as she suddenly sits next to her unsuspecting brother, Jonel, in their dining area.
Jonel is busy eating and didn't notice Emyrose sitting beside him. Then as she reaches for the food in front of his brother, that's when Jonel notices her arm.
He looks confused at first, but when he finally realizes who had sat next to him, Jonel screamed and hugged his sister right away.

Earlier that day, with the help of one of her siblings, Emyrose also surprised the other members of her family by barging into their home wearing a helmet.
When they all realized it was her, laughter ensued and they embraced Emyrose whom they missed dearly.
In an interview, Emyrose revealed that she decided to come home despite still having a work contract in Taiwan because of her mother's plea.
Their mother suffers from epilepsy and Emyrose wants to be always by her mother's side.
“Ang hirap po…baka magsisi pa po ako sa huli,” Emyrose told On Record. “Tutal, gusto ko na rin sila makasama kahit wala. 'Yun po, pinagbigyan ko po nanay ko, na umuwi na rin po.”
